I am passionate about building into people’s lives. To help people grow and develop, to recognise their God given strengths and what motivates them.
I have two mentoring aims: 1) To support and develop managers and leaders as they wrestle with the demands and challenges of organisations, ministry and life. 2) To journey with those who are facing a transition in life such as changing jobs, or seeking to find what they are truly called to do in life.
My varied career began as a mechanical and electrical engineer. In my mid-twenties I attended All Nations Christian College, which led me to be a pastor’s assistant and then to work in missions in Pakistan for 10 years. I have a Masters in Social Science which equipped me to be a Personnel Manager for Tearfund staff working in Asia, and then to be the Head of the International HR team. In those 16 years at Tearfund I fulfilled a variety of roles in change management, pastoral care, training, and building into the lives of my team members and other staff. After 8 years as Head of HR at Mission Aviation Fellowship UK, I am now currently involved in mentoring, training and providing HR Advice to individuals and churches. Becoming a Fellow of the CIPD has broadened my understanding of organisational development and strategic thinking.
Other experiences have included being a trustee of a charity, chairing the International HR Forum of Global Connections, and the privilege of extensive overseas travel providing support and encouragement to people working cross culturally. Not forgetting an abseil off a 10 storey building for charity! I am married to Jenny and have 2 grown up children.
