Full time parent and Community Volunteer
I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, a Trained Youth Worker with years of experience working within Sussex, Oxfordshire and East Northamptonshire and a Methodist Local Preacher.
I am an experienced mentor and trainer in schools ministry, youth work, employment and employee relations. I have mentored people with Mental Health concerns and those who have Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism. I have worked with Ministers, been a Hospital Chaplain walking alongside patients and staff and have mentored and trained Methodist Local Preachers.
I have had training in CBT and Motivational Interviewing. I have been a Community Governor for eight years with responsibility for training, Learning and Development and Personnel Maters. I am a mentor in Peterborough City Centre at the Garden House Project working alongside homeless, rough sleepers and refuges. Utilising my Employability skills to coach and mentor these folk to stay focused, offering God’s love and hope to them as we journey together enabling them to move forward in love and hope.
I believe mentoring is both a form of pastoral care and discipleship framed in a helpful way for people to gain the knowledge and skills the people God has called them to be.
To quote Carl Rogers ‘In my early professional years I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person. Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his or her own personal growth?’
I am happy to Mentor using Skype / Apple FaceTime
